Mark Easton is a high octane blues machine who burns it up on slide guitar. Elements of blues, rock, dirty grooves, funk and gnarly slide playing are blazingly evident with Mark’s love of the stronger side of the blues- acknowledging styles like RL Burnside, Hound Dog Taylor, Led Zeppelin, Black Keys, White Stripes. The loop system layers his music, combined with harmonica and drumming with his feet to provide a full, fat sound. Some very fine acoustic guitar picking rounds off the flip side of this musical dynamo.
“Lovers of biting, ruthless slide guitar and blues rock, funk rock and hard rock are going to have the time of their lives.”
Mark began his music career in his dad’s 20 piece Sydney Jazz band and then a series of hard punk/pop/glamrock bands, until a burnt out Easton took off surfing and fell in love with the blues. He cleaned up his life, pulled together a band called Mark Easton Limousine which toured through 3 albums until he went solo again with cd Money is the Root of All Evil. That did well on USA blues charts, Blues Beat chart in Australia and springboarded him into many Australian blues festivals.
Community radio is abuzz with new cd ‘Grind’ receiving instant airplay also in France, Belgium, Denmark, UK, USA. and with six consecutive months now in the top 25 on Australian Blues and Roots Airplay Charts!
